Thank you from the Catahoula Times team!

Thank you everybody for the positive responses to the first issue of the Catahoula Times. We are working to make it better every month. If there is anything you would like to add or suggestions please let us know.

Question of the Month– We want to hear from our readers, so we have decided to start a question of the month so we can get your opinion and thoughts. As much as we want to believe it, we don’t know everything. Ha Ha!!!! So just send your answers to catahoulatimes@valornet.com and next month we will give you the results. So the question is……..What is the strangest place you have found toys, poop, empty food packages, you get the point?

This is the time of year we, in rescue, call “Puppy Season” because we see so many little ones in the shelters in the spring. That is why it is so sad to see so many “Seniors” being dumped in shelters to die. They are not as easily adoptable due to their age and add all the available puppies and they don’t have a chance. We have several wonderful Seniors looking for permanent homes. Don’t you think they deserve better in their golden years? We do. Click on their pictures for more details or go to www.catahoularescue.com to fill out an application.

In each area she sat down in, she would leave behind a puddle of black flea dirt. She would not raise her head to even look at me. We noticed right away that she had many tumors. Nonetheless, we loaded he and another little Catahoula girl up and drove home. The next day I had her at the vet's office and was told she had Osteosarcoma that had metastisized throughout her body... ( more )

Training Tip – “Neenie’s Soapbox”
By Janeen Jackson    Many Catahoula owners have asked me to put some things like this on the board here, to help those who are struggling with their dogs. Some of you I have worked with in the background already. So Neenie will do this in parts and climb up on the soapbox. If it will help our dogs keep their homes, I don't mind a bit. ( more )
