“AAHA 2006 Vaccination Guidelines”

Vaccination NEWSFLASH

All 27 veterinary schools in North America are in the process of changing their protocols for vaccinating dogs and cats.

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) has released a new set of vaccination guidelines for your dog this year.  The most noteworthy changes are the extension from 1 year to 3 year intervals between shots for infectious diseases other than Rabies and a separate set of recommendations for shelter environments.

The new recommended core vaccines are as follows (these are guidelines from the AAHA but you should consult your veterinarian to make an educated decision for your dog):

Core Vaccines (every 3 years after initial puppy shots and one annual booster)

Noncore Vaccines (annual, under discretion of Veterinarian)
